Favourite Music Albums
Vildhjarta - Måsstaden Under Vatten
Mindblowing album. So many syncopations, unorthodox structures, a clear mix of heavyness and cleans, with a very big influence of melancholy. You are likely to have never heard of this before. My favourite album of the century so far.
Genre: Thall
Favourite Tracks: heartsmear, detta drömmars sköte en slöja till ormars näste, den helige anden
Northlane - Discoveries
An album which has a clear goal with yet unorthodox structure with each song, with lyrics that recall eager positivity, and it reminds me a lot of a late afternoon day with a clear sky above and the sun very close to sunset.
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Abrasumente, Exposure, Comatose
Gravemind - Conduit
Mind crushing vocals, with a very big emphasis on the high end of the voice, the vocalist on this album is very unique. A mix of metalcore and deathcore which I really enjoy.
Genres: Metalcore, Deathcore
Favourite Tracks: Reading;Steiner, Phantom Pain, Embrace
Varials - In Darkness
A much more modern spin of what old Slipknot has done. The vocals are raw, dirty, and the whole album feels very cohesive. Lyrics talk about very heavy topics, and the instrumental work is very punchy.
Genre: Nu-metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Deathsong, Wound, Splinter
Varials - Pain Again
Slow paced metalcore, big influences on slow breakdowns and thick bass tone. Since it was released, the album really stands out with the bass tone throughout the playtime. Very groovy.
Genre: Hardcore, Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Pain Again, Empire Of Dirt, God Talk
After The Burial - Rareform
Progressive Metalcore album which really brings the progressive in it. Very experimental with riffs and djent influences by Meshuggah, along with rough vocals.
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Rareform, Aspiration, A Vicious Reforming Of Features
Jane Remover - frailty
Across the hyperpop scene, this album separates quite a bit compared from others. It's a lengthy album as well, many chill vibes encountered.
Genre: Hyperpop
Favourite Tracks: search party, eyes off the wheel, i'm a star, kodak moment
Uneven Structure - Februus
One of the most atmospheric of the bunch. Has ethereal vibes met with heavy guitarwork, with more focus on the instrumentals. Likely to hear the whole album in one go rather than each song separately.
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Plenitude, Quittance, Awaken
Devil Sold His Soul - A Fragile Hope
Mind crushing vocals, with a very big emphasis on the high end of the voice, the vocalist on this album is very unique. A mix of metalcore and deathcore which I really enjoy.
Genre: Post-Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: The Starting, Between Two Words, Dawn on the First Day.
Sentinels - Collapse By Design (Instrumental)
While I enjoy the version with the vocals, this album really makes the instrumentals pop out with the really crazy syncopations which sound very complex. Atmosphere quite present.
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Comfort in Familiar Pain, Albatross, Solitude
Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony
One of the albums which I discovered on my first years of starting with music. Songs alone work out, but on a long playtime I can see those become repetitive with same structure. Yet at the time I enjoyed it, and some songs I come back to sometimes.
Genre: Alternative Metal
Favourite Tracks: Dear Agony, Without You, Anthem Of The Angels
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
First album which introduced me to the metal scene. A mix of metal riffs, rap, and rock. Quite memorable moments from it.
Genre: Nu-Metal
Favourite Tracks: By Myself, A Place In My Head, One Step Closer.
The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls With Sand
Soul crushing ethereal work across all the album, its the album I would recommend who finds beauty in the bleak and melancholy. Very thick atmosphere.
Genre: Doomgaze
Favourite Tracks: Dying in A-Minor, Weighing Souls With Sand, The Promise Of Snakes
Invent Animate - Heavener
Heavy guitarwork, syncopated riffs, emotional across the whole album. Very defining for the era it was made.
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Emberglow, Shade Astray, False Meridian
Slipknot - Iowa
First album which made me realize how heavy can songs be. Brutal riffs, brutal vocals, with pissed off vibes, along with songs which are quite bleak.
Genre: Nu-Metal, Alternative Metal
Favourite Tracks: Gently, Disasterpiece, The Shape
fromjoy - fromjoy
Caveman metalcore guitarwork, breakcore, and thall influences, this album is quite unique for the scene.
Genre: Digital Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: seraph, fromjoy, morbidly perfect
Sleep Token - Sundowning
Album which revolutionized the mix of metal and pop. Very chill on some tracks, and heavy on others. Very good album to recommend who wants to start listening metal influences.
Genre: Pop, Alternative Metal
Favourite Tracks: The Night Does Not Belong To God, Gods, Take Aim
Indistinct - Reign Of Silence
Another thall album in the mix, more focus on the atmospheric ethereal vibes, not as bleak, elements of organic pipes remind me at times of vibes I would perfectly see in games such as Hollow Knight.
Genre: Thall
Favourite Tracks: Reign Of Silence, Cascade, Hollow
Boundaries - Your Receding Warmth
Evil album, guitars get along with the rage of the vocals, extremely pissed off.
Genre: Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Get Out, Written and Rephrased, Your Receding Warmth
Melting - You Exist Because We Allow It
Caveman riffage, atmosphere is there, vocals are also unique!
Genre: Metalcore
Favourite Tracks: Perhaps This Is Hell, Guided By The Hand Of A Witch And Corvid, 874
The Acacia Strain - Coma Witch
A mix of hardcore, downtuned beatdown deathcore, with the incolumable final long track solidyfing the doom/sludge influences.
Genre: Beatdown Deathcore
Favourite Tracks: Observer, Human Disaster, Cauterizer
